OPC Interface

Traditionally, interfaces to process control systems, data historians, and online analyzers require specialized applications to navigate their proprietary protocols. The process control industry has collaborated to build an interface standard for any system that generates or stores time-series data. The resulting interface specification is called OPC (OLE for Process Control). Most process control vendors, and those partner packages that supply data to them, have implemented standard OPC interfaces. Any standard OPC client can share data with any OPC standard server with minimal configuration and with no software development.

Baytek International assisted in beta testing and deployment of the first OPC interfaces for many of the process control industry vendors. Baytek’s BLISS OPC interface provides robust, portable interfaces for an ever-growing number of OPC compliant applications.
