Overview - Prerequisites - Syllabus

 
 
 
Course Objectives - At the completion of this course, you should be able to do the following:
   
 Support WinBLISS software

Understand and manage laboratory data definition - sample points, tests, labs, techs, alpha codes, alpha code groups

Understand the Certificates of Analysis subsystem

Understand the Report Distributions subsystem

Use existing reports and reporting tools - accounting, automatic reporting, vlr

Build data searches

Create and troubleshoot simple calculations

Overview of WinBLISS

Installation and setup of WinBLISS and Oracle Client

Troubleshooting connectivity issues involving Account Editor, ODBC, tnsnames.ora, hosts & services file, lims.udl, environment variables

Installing WinBLISS Services (installing services, running as a network user, directory permissions)

Blissd, Alog, and RDS setup and usage

Oracle enterprise installation

Creation of new database/Importing an existing database

Bmenus

Installing WinBLISS databases patches

Labels Server and CodeSoft

Calculation and COA Server

Uninstalling Oracle and overview of structure and configuration

Nightly Backups, Archiving, Disaster recovery

AAIM Architecture and Configuration

BDCA

GC and Non-GC Instrument automation

Instructional Procedure - Participants will use individual PCs. All training exercises will be based on the use of a standardized training database, and each participant will use a separate copy of this database. Instruction will include a combination of verbal instruction, demonstration, guided practice, and independent practice. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions throughout the learning process.
   
Materials and Supplies - Baytek International will provide all instructional materials and supplies.
