INSTRUMENT MANAGEMENT provides paperless links to various lab instruments and process analyzers. These totally integrated functions are designed to automate instruments with easy to use tools.
Chromatography Management includes ChemLink™ software and Baytek Data Acquisition hardware products. These products allow for automatic, electronic transfer of chromatography results to the LIMS. They automatically allow electronic sequence building from analyst backlog, complete, auditable control of instrument for each sample, and the capture of time, instrument, and reference to raw data file for each chromatography result. The user may also choose to archive methods and data files.
Chromatography Data Acquisition Products are integrated data collection systems based on Baytek hardware. These include the Baytek Digital Data Collection Server, which collects full dynamic range chromatography data from HP 5890, 6850 gas chromatographs. The Baytek Loop Data Collection server replaces one loop of an older HP LAS chromatography system. This is the state-of-the-art solution for automating laboratories with numerous GC’s. Each analyst is capable of controlling many chromatography instruments with absolute accuracy of data entry while ensuring regulatory control of analytical methods.
ChemLink is an electronic interface between the LIMS and Chromatography Systems. It allows technicians to efficiently perform many instrument management activities by integrating the LIMS with chromatography software products. ChemLink provides the capability to develop sequence files from the analyst backlog for several popular chromatography systems. It provides gas chromatography and auto sampler control for HP 5890, 6890, and 6850 GC’s and associated auto samplers. In combination with Baytek Data Acquisition Products, ChemLink supports dual simultaneous injection on HP GC’s with dual columns and auto-injectors.
Equipment Maintenance is a fully automated function that facilitates the proper utilization and maintenance of laboratory equipment by providing an accurate measurement of equipment histories and productivities. Working with WinBLISS or standalone, it maintains equipment history, commissioning details, and maintenance histories, and can generate work orders and printouts of all outstanding orders. The instrument status is tied to the Instrument Calibration module and can route work to alternate instruments if the primary instrument is down for maintenance. These features allow for higher quality decisions on equipment decommissioning, detection of “problem” instruments, and a more efficient utilization of lab personnel. This integration of maintenance. Data allows for an efficient and productive use of laboratory instruments.
Instrument Calibration ensures that proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments is enforced, allowing for increased efficiency and quality control. This function electronically assigns samples to those instruments that have passed calibration and supports multiple levels of calibration, including multiple samples logged in, each with their own concentration level. It also supports multiple statuses per instrument, with a pass/fail for several different tests. Instruments batches are created and archived with samples automatically inserted in the batch to enforce the calibration procedures. Archived batches can be retrieved and analyzed to identify suspect samples when a calibration sample fails. The suspect samples can then be re-run. The Instrument Calibration function helps meet EPA, ISO and FDA requirements. It supports audit responses and provides an efficient means of enforcing laboratory calibration procedures. |
