WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT tools are designed to help laboratory managers efficiently control the flow of work and data from one area to another. These tools create an invisible tracking mechanism that greatly increases the efficiency and productivity of most laboratory processes. Sample Priority is another efficient tool for managing laboratory workflow. This function allows for custom scheduling of work based on priority of samples. It is an automated feature that orders work lists by sample priority, allows for changes at sample login, and features default settings by sample point or process unit. A surcharge may also be added to sample cost, based on priority, and reported in the Accounting Module. Sample Schedule/Arrival Time provides an effortless, electronic capture of sample times. This data helps management improve laboratory operations by removing subjective perceptions of sample handling and restoring accountability to sample handlers. Time stamps are associated with each sample that define the time the sample was scheduled, the time the sample was taken, and the time the sample arrived in each laboratory. This documentation allows for advanced laboratory management analysis and provides a fully automated method of sample tracking. |
